In the article “Trends in cancer incidence and survival for Indigenous and non-Indigenous people in the Northern Territory”, published in the 21 November 2016 issue of the Journal (Med J Aust 2016; 205: 454-458) there were two errors. On page 456, the sentence “There was a consistent increase in survival for both Indigenous and non-Indigenous people between 1991–1996 and 2007–2012 for all cancer sites examined” should read “There was a consistent increase in survival for both Indigenous and non-Indigenous people between 1991–2000 and 2001–2010 for all cancer sites examined”. On page 458, the sentence “Semi-national estimates indicate that the incidence of cancers of the bowel and prostate, for instance, is not as low as for Indigenous people elsewhere in Australia” should read “Semi-national estimates indicate that the incidence of cancers of the bowel and prostate, for instance, is not as low for Indigenous people elsewhere in Australia”.
