Setting the global agenda for prevention and control of non-communicable diseases — a report from the recent United Nations General Assembly high-level meeting
On 19–20 September 2011, the United Nations (UN) General Assembly convened a High-Level Meeting on Prevention and Control of Non-communicable Diseases (NCDs) in New York. This is only the second time in its 66-year history that the UN General Assembly has gathered to consider a health issue, the previous occasion being for HIV in 2001.
