To the Editor: I endorse the viewpoint expressed by Jenkins and colleagues.1 They refer to the dearth of hospital medical generalists, at a time of increasing numbers of elderly patients with multiple comorbidities. Nowhere is this lack of appropriate clinical skill to match demand so apparent as in our regional centres.
