Professor Neville D Yeomans
MD, DSc (h.c.), FRACP
Neville Yeomans MD, DSc (hc), FRACP is Professor Emeritus in the School of Medicine, Western Sydney University, Director of Research at Austin Hospital, and Professorial Fellow at University of Melbourne. He is a gastroenterologist, with particular research interests in the mechanisms by which the stomach protects itself from acid and agents such as aspirin and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. He was previously Professor of Medicine and Associate Dean (Academic Programs) at the University of Melbourne and Foundation Dean of the new medical school at Western Sydney. He was awarded the Order of Australia (AM) for his services to tertiary education, research and clinical medicine. Extracurricular activities include choral singing, cellaring old wines and completing a BA with major in History.
