Professor Ian N Olver, AM
MD, PhD
Ian Olver AM, MD, PhD is a medical oncologist, bioethicist and researcher. He is currently Professor of Translational Cancer Research, Director of the Sansom Institute for Health Research, and Dean of Research Strategy in the Division of Health Sciences, University of South Australia, where he heads a psycho-oncology research team. He holds adjunct appointments in the Centre for Values, Ethics and the Law in Medicine at the University of Sydney and in the School of Medicine at University of Adelaide, as well as an emeritus appointment in Medical Oncology at the Royal Adelaide Hospital Cancer Centre. He currently chairs the Australian Health Ethics Committee of the NHMRC, and sits on NHMRC Council. He chairs the Medical Oncology Group Ethics Committee. He is the incoming President of the Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer.
