Risks and benefits of postmenopausal combined hormone replacement therapy

In 1997, South Australian women around the age of menopause had one of the highest reported rates of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) use in the world.1 Among women aged 55–64 years, 60% had used HRT and nearly 40% were current users, with a mean length of HRT use of 70 months.
