Recognising congenital glaucoma

Adam K Rudkin, Jwu J Khong and Theresa M Casey
MJA 2009; 191 (8): 466-467

Clinical record

A 4-month-old girl was referred to an ophthalmology clinic in May 2008 for assessment of a left convergent squint (esotropia). First noticed 3 weeks previously, the squint had become increasingly prominent. The child’s parents had also noted increased watering of the eyes, ascribed, by the child’s paediatrician, to congenital nasolacrimal duct obstruction.
