Re: “An unusual cause of severe metabolic acidosis”, by John V Peter, Natasha Rogers, Shailesh Murty, Rosemarie Gerace, Richard Mackay and Sandra L Peake, in the 21 August issue of the Journal (Med J Aust 2006; 185: 223-225). During the production process, the drug name “timentin” was inadvertently changed to “timolol”.
The sentence describing antibiotic therapy should read: “On Day 14, ceftriaxone and gentamicin were changed to empirical clavulanate/ticarcillin (Timentin, GlaxoSmithKline, Australia) and ciprofloxacin because of persistent fever and rising WCC.”
The html and pdf versions of the article were corrected on 29 August 2006.
